This week we met several aviation industry players in Thailand and wanted to share these news items with you.
After a long period of COVID-19 Pandemic, it's again possible to travel to Thailand without the to quarantine. We took this opportunity and decided to run a road show in Thailand to meet our clients, business partners and stakeholders.

Panyapiwat Institute of Management (PIM)
is a higher education establishment in Thailand. It was founded in 2007 by CP All PCL, the retail arm of the Thai conglomerate and the country's operator of 7-Eleven convenience stores. The institute specialises in work-based learning, and serves as a feeder of personnel for CP's businesses and Aviation.

Labor shortage is an industry-wide problem in Thailand
According to the discussions, airlines, ground handling companies and freight forwarders are struggling with labor shortages when reopening flights and other operations after pandemic.
Thailand hopes to see flights to double after Test & Go is gone
Thailand is expecting to see air travel soar due to ending the Test & Go requirements. According to the estimates, the number of take-offs and landings will double at the country's airports by the end of this year.
Significant increase expected in both international and domestic flights
The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) expects 83,500 flights per month at all airports in Thailand by year's end, which is 100% more compared to the present volume. The significant increase is expected in both international and domestic flights.
Thai AirAsia X plans to restart scheduled passenger operations
Thai AirAsia X plans to restart scheduled passenger operations on June 1, 2022. The Thai long-haul low-cost carrier will operate 3 weekly flights to Seoul Incheon (June 1, 2022) and Tokyo Narita (June 5, 2022) four times a week. Both routes will operate A330-300s. Thai AirAsia X operates six of these aircraft, alongside two inactive A330-900s.
Thai Airways International teams up with PTT to develop cargo services
Thai Airways International (THAI) is joining hands with national oil and gas conglomerate PTT Plc to develop cargo services, with the aim of becoming a regional logistics leader. The two companies plan to conduct a one-year feasibility study on the integration of their business expertise and a possibility of to spinning of new businesses.
