We were pleased to participate in this year's GHI Annual Conference, which took place from 10 to 12 November at the RAI Amsterdam. The event brought together leaders in ground handling from around the world to discuss the future of our industry, covering topics ranging from regulation and safety to digital transformation and skills.
What Was on the Agenda?
Over three days, the conference focused on several themes that are highly relevant to our customers and partners.
Ground Handling Regulations A major debate focused on upcoming and proposed regulatory changes and their global impact on ground service providers. Compliance, safety standards, and performance expectations were all areas in spotlight, where structured, high-quality training will play an increasingly critical role.
Digitisation of Ground Operations Sessions explored how the industry is preparing for cyberattacks, enabling contactless passenger journeys, and optimising digitally enabled turnarounds. This aligns closely with Airport College International’s digital learning portfolio, which includes topics as Cyber Security, SMS, and operational best practices delivered through eLearning.
Skills & Workforce Development With skills shortages continuing to challenge the sector, the conference discussed new ways to attract and retain talent, including hiring from outside the traditional airport community. Continuous training and upskilling will be essential to implementing this is day-to-day operations.
Innovation on Show The exhibition area hosted a wide range of product demonstrations, showcasing how technology is reshaping ground handling, including eLearning, VR training, Real-time wind intelligence, Weight & Balance automation and Resource management tools.
These solutions complement our mission at Airport College International's mission to provide modern, efficient and scalable eLearning for ground handling and logistics, including VR-enhanced content for ULD handling and other critical tasks.
